Tips for accomplices: Don't explain! If you have committed a microaggression or have offended a person of color just apologize and move on. Do not explain! This goes for examples of racism or racist acts that you may not fully understand. Women, you know how frustrating mansplaining is, right? Then, please don't whitesplain!
Self-care tip for folks of color: Find and/or create community. If you work in an institution that is predominately white or live in a neighborhood that is predominately white, you need to intentionally build community (church/place of worship, join a Meetup group, etc.). We are a tribal people, and we thrive when we are able to be around our tribe.
